1 Review on “Meliá Fuerteventura”
Location:
If you are looking to mostly kite or windsurf at Sotavento, you couldn’t go past this location with direct access to the lagoon and windsurfing zone. It is also a very suitable and central base for sailing at Costa Calma and Risco Del Paso. The only disadvantage was if you wanted to go to a restaurant, you need to drive about 15 mins to Costa Calma.
Rooms:
The rooms were great with plenty of space and a great outdoor balcony with spectacular views. There we are few minor things like the fridge not working and only 1 chair in a twin/double room but overall the room was great, the climate control was good and the beds were very comfy.
Facilities:
The hotel has some lovely common lounge areas and a nice feeling of space. The outdoor pools and garden setting were spectacular and the perfect place for non-sailors and kids to lounge/play around.
Restaurants & Bars:
Unfortunately the buffet breakfast was a bit average compared to other Melia hotels we have stayed in but still more than adequate for the price. However the evening buffets were very excellent! Drinks from the bar were also moderately priced.
Parking:
The hotel doesn’t have any parking as such but there is quite a bit of street parking. The only issue is getting a park near the hotel during busy beach hours. However in saying this the furthest we had to park was 5 mins away.
Service:
Upon arrival, the service staff weren’t very good with a very slow and slack check-in, no information about the hotel and then sending us in totally the wrong direction to our room. We had to get one of the cleaners to show us where our room was which took considerable time.
Recommendation:
We would absolutely recommend this as the best option if you are looking for a good value resort-style hotel for sailing at Sotavento, Costa Calma and Risco Del Paso.
