Main Beach, Corralejo (Fuerteventura)

When the wind blows in the right direction (NW), windsurfing from main beach in the middle of Corralejo can be incredible (kitesurfing is not possible from this location).

As you launch the water is protected by the harbour so it is very flat and the harbour doesn’t see to slow or disturb the wind too much – this is a great spot for slalom & flat water blasting.

As you get further out the sea starts to turn a bit lumpy so it is ideal for some bump and jump.

As you near the Island of Lobos the water turns the most incredible blue colour you will ever experience; you feel like you are sailing in a swimming pool in someone’s back yard! Close to the island you can get some pretty decent wave for some good intermediate wave riding.

Given that harbour provides a good shelter this spot would be good for beginners when the wind is light and when the wind comes up it’s time to go fast!

Potential Hazards

There are some large reefs to the right as you sail out. At low tide these reefs totally stick out of the water so there is not a lot of draft even at high tide so best to avoid.
