Corrigans Beach, Batehaven is located 4km south of Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast.
It is a great spot for flat-water-sailing and bump-and-jump for all levels of windsurfers and kitesurfers.
This spot works best in a SE however can also work in a NE to NW breeze.
It is ideal for learning as it offers shallow protected water with very little swell and the prevailing NE winds are on-shore.
If you are up for an adventure, in a NW or SE breeze, you can sail all the way across the bay to Maloneys Beach (approx 4kms). There is a but of swell in the middle but nothing too treacherous.
Access & Launching
Depending on the wind direction there are several spots to launch & rig.
The most popular area is near the sailing club at the Northern end of the bay which is ideal in a NE to NW breeze.
For kitesurfers there is a huge wide-open beach for rigging and for windsurfers a grassy area next to the massive car park.
Another option is from the centre of the bay at the Corrigans Beach Reserve.
Kitesurfing Services
If you are interested in trying kitesurfing or improving your skills, The Kite Bus runs kitesurfing lessons in and around the Batemans Bay area. They also offer kitesurfer rentals for those needing to rent gear. In addition, if you are looking for someone to ride with, they offer ride days and downwinders for experienced kiters with their own gear.
Where To Stay
There are two waterfront holiday parks on Corrigans Bay where you would be able to launch from the beach directly in front of the parks.
The Batemans Bay Beach Resort offers camp sites right on the waterfront as well as caravan sites and cabins and is pet friendly.
The Clyde View Holiday park (not pet friendly) has some fancy villas and a few powered camp sites.
There are also a number of holiday home rentals and motels dotted around Batemans Bay.
