Squids @ Belmont is possibly the most popular kiteboarding spot for locals on Lake Macquarie when the wind blows from the NW (it can also work around to west).

The spot is ideal for flat water sailing. It has a muddy bottom and the water is shallow.

It is advisable to wear booties due to Razor Clams. Launching can also be tricky amongst trees so be careful when the wind is gusty.

ACCESS

The spot is located in Belmont Bay on the east-side of Lake Macquarie.

The launching spot is actually accessible via the Belmont Lakeside Holiday Park. Drop your gear off on the grassy rigging area and then park your car at one of the designated visitor parks.
