Dendy Street Brighton is located on Port Phillip Bay NE of Melbourne.
This spot is good for flat-water-blasting and bump-and-jump in a S, SW, W (SW is best) for strong intermediate to advanced riders.
IN SW around 15 knots it’s a fairly smooth, side-to-on swell out to sea and perfectly flat on the inside for gybing.
In a big southerly you will see local freestylers doing forwards and other tricks.
This is not really a place for beginners as it takes quite a bit of effort to carry your gear to the beach and the sailing area has some nasty rocks not too far from the launching area.
Parking is a bit of an issue as it is expensive and you have to carry your gear across a main road or at least down the ramp to the beach to get to the rigging & launching area.
Once there you will find a large sandy beach for rigging & launching in front on Brighton’s famous beach bathing boxes.
