Karbeethong is a small suburb of Mallacoota located on the western side of the lower lake (about 5 mins drive out of town).
This spot is more ideal for windsurfers as there is very little area for kitesurfers to rig.
It is ideal for flat-water-blasting, bump-and-jump and foiling in a SW breeze. It can also work in a SSW & S breeze however the conditions will be more gusty until you are clear of the up-wind headland.
This is also the best place to launch if you are wanting to sail the speed strip at Goodwin Sands.
This spot is also a safe area for beginners to learn and progress.
Access, Rigging & Launching
Drive along Lakeside Drive almost to the end where you will find a big grassy patch with a number if disused catamarans.
There is parking here and plenty of grass to rig on.
Launch from either side of the small jetty there depending on the wind angle.
