Middle Park is located just a few kms from the Melbourne CBD and is a regular hang-out for local windsurfers.
The spot works well from SW to SE for flat-water-sailing however the water can be pretty choppy as there is a lot of fetch by the time the wind arrives at this end of the bay so it is more like bump-and-jump most of the time.
As the water depth is good there is a lot more windsurfers getting out there on foils to make the ride smooth.
You can rig up on the wide sandy beach however many locals seem to prefer to rig on the grassy median-strip in the middle of Beaconsfield parade.
In light winds this can also be a good spot for beginners.
