Newlands Arm Paynesville (Victoria, Australia)
Kitesurfing at Newlands Arm in Paynesville
Newlands Arm is a popular spot for kitesurfers during summer in a easterly breeze.
The unique spit creates a barrier to the waves in Lake King but still allows a relatively stable stream of air over the spit resulting in very flat water to kite on.
This spot isn’t really suitable to windsurfing as the spit creates too much turbulence close to the water.
Access & Launching
Drive to Newlands estate and along Colony Club Drive until you come to the large round about. Turn off to the left to the boat ramp where you will find free car parking.
There is a grassy area behind some scrub and a sandy beach for rigging and launching.
Where to Stay
There are a couple of holiday homes at Newlands Arm however the majority of accommodation is in Paynesville or the caravan park at Eagle Point.
