RENTAL RANGE/CONDITION
There is no doubt Rene Egli has some of the best rental gear on the planet! It was a please being able to change boards & rigs as often as I wanted as conditions changed. They update gear each year so most of it is pretty new. With this quality and range the top-end gear came at a premium price compared to other Centres in the Canary Islands.
STAFF EXPERTISE/PROFESSIONALISM
I must say I was quite disappointed in this aspect of the business. When registering there seemed to be a real lack of systems and a definite lack of personalised attention. When I went to collect my gear the guy looking after the sails was more interested in chatting up the girls than doing his job. It did become quite frustrating and when I wanted to change sails I was treated as though it was a hard ask.
LOCATION/HANGOUTS
It is hard to beat the location as it is right on the water fronting the ocean and the training lagoon. I don’t recall a bar on-site however there was some nice spots to sit around in front of the centre.
VALUE
I think based on the lack of attention to detail in service plus the higher cost of gear, the value was not as good as other centres around. However in saying this they really have a great location and quality gear so that compensates somewhat for their short-comings.
