Inverloch Windsurfing Club (Victoria, Australia)
Inverloch Windsurfing club is located on Andersons Inlet in Inverloch, Victoria.
The club was established in 2009 and has grown to over 100 members from the local community, many from Melbourne and greater Victoria and even some from interstate & international.
The club is social and holds casual events throughout the season including speed sailing & long-board racing.
They also offer training days and mentoring to beginners in the club.SAILING:Anderson's inlet is a very sheltered inlet making it a great spot for all levels depending on the wind strength.
It has become renowned over the past decade as a great spot to go fast on very flat water. When the wind blows from the SW it comes through the inlet clean and often hard. As the tide drops, diagonal sandbars that almost run square to the wind start to appear making the water super flat. The only downside is the water can get quite shallow so you have to be careful not to catch a sand bar and catapult over the handlebars.
For beginners, most of the sailing area never gets much deeper than chest deep so when they fall in the sandy bottom is never too far away.
Whilst the windsurfing club is for windsurfers only, kitesurfing is also very popular at this spot due to the consistent winds and shallow protected flat water.
