Tannum Sands isn’t often thought of as a destination for wind sports however it has some key ingredients that make it a spot worth adding to a road trip on the northern Queensland coast.
- Firstly there are options for flat water blasting/speed sailing, bump & jump, small wave riding and even a nearby lake
- The most consistent breezes are from the months of October to March however it blows regularly over 15 knots all winter long.
- The daily air temps are around 25 – 30 deg C.
- And the water temps in the sea and on the lake are a basking 22 – 27 deg C.
