Windsurfing & Kitesurfing at Liptons, Mandurah

Collins Pool at Mandurah is one of the best flat water spots in WA but it depends on where the weed is from year-to-year as to where the flattest water is.

Liptons is one such spot where the weed provides optimal speed rewards and is extremely flat so super easy for gybing.

The wind is usually a few knots lighter here that Safety Bay or Perth but the water is so flat the highest speeds are generally recorded at Liptons.

Whilst there is a spot that works in every wind direction on the pond, the best wind directions at Liptons are SW to SE.

Mid-tide is best however it is still pretty flat even at high tide but it can get pretty shallow and you can get bogged down in weed at very low tides.

Windsurfers will definitely need a weed fin here for 50 to 55 deg (or 45 on higher winds).

Mandurah is located approx. 70km or 1 hour drive south of Perth.

Access, Rigging & Launching

Access via the end of Estuary Place, Kiters Beach, Wannanup where you will find a car parking area.
