Yamba - Pipi Beach (NSW, Australia)

Kitesurfing at Pippi Beach, Yamba

Pippi Beach at Yamba is a popular kitesurfing spot for the locals riding waves. If there is a storm out to sea you can get some good swells here with waves over 2m.

Most riders seem to use one direction boards without foot straps.

This is a surf beach so it is not really a place for beginner kiters.

Access, Launching & Rigging

There is free car parking and a nice shady area to pump up kites and then it is just a 50m walk to the huge white sandy beach to launch from.

It should have been called Squeaky Beach as the sand squeaks as you walk on it!

Potential Hazards

The most obvious hazard here is the shore break but also keep an eye out for sharks.
