El Cotillo is a 20 minute drive from Corralejo. Although El Cotillo is best known as one of the finest wavesailing spots on Fuerteventura, it also has a protected lagoon that is the best location for beginners and early improvers. The protected lagoon is only 1m deep and has a sandy bottom, and it is also perfect for families with kids that want to try windsurfing. Flag beach centre provides half day trips to the lagoon, which include pick up from your hotel, rental and lessons if needed. This is great fun and a good way for the less experienced to improve their level in a safe and social environment.
