Windsurfing & Kitesurfing at Sandstone Point (Pebble Beach)
This is a lovely spot for beginners in the lighter winds and for flat water blasters & bump-and-jump sailors as the wind increases during the day. This is a good spot if you are looking to sail solo as it is pretty safe.
The best wind direction here is from the SE on high-tide (low tide can be done but can be technical due to obstacles).
There are some weeds & rocks (to the right as you sail out) but if you sail directly off-shore you will avoid the rocks. Other hazards are sandbars as the tide gets lower and jelly fish can be prevalent at certain times.
Access, Rigging & Launching
There is car parking right on the rigging / launching area with public toilets, kids playground and BBQ facilities.
The rigging area is a lovely grass area with trees for shelter and launching is via a sandy beach.
Access Pebble Beach via Oxley Rd just past Bestmar Rd. The carpark can get busy on weekends.
