Brighton Beach is located on Port Phillip Bay SE of Melbourne.
This is a good spot mostly for locals not wanting to travel too far to get a sail in. It works for bump-and-jump, freestyle, foiling and blasting.
Whilst S & SW is the best direction, this spot also works well in a N, NW, W. Pretty much anything without E in it.
The spot is suited mostly to intermediate to advanced kiters as there are some nasty reefs in the area and the water gets deep quickly. There can be a bit of a shore break in a westerly so riders need some experience with this direction.
The rigging and launching area is great with a wide stretch of sandy beach and generally not too many bathers on the beach. There are no hard obstacles up or down-wind and it is well away from trees, power lines, roads & houses.
There is parking along the road parallel to the beach but be prepared to pay$$.
