Dromana (Victoria, Australia)

Dromana is located on Port Phillip Bay on the Mornington Peninsula approximately 85km (1 hour drive) south of Melbourne.

This spot works from WSW to NNE and is ideal for flat water blasting and bump-and-jump.

Access & Launching

The most popular area for launching is to the north of the Dromana jetty.

The beach is a large and sandy beach however it can get busy during summer with beach goers so rigging & launching of kites may be limited.

Beginners should go further north to Safety Beach for better on-shore conditions when wind is from NW.

Hazards

Like most of the Mornington Peninsula front beaches the sand gradient is gradual (although it is better than those spots further south). Just be careful of fin strikes on sand bars at speed.

Also be aware of speed limitations and other beach goers.
