Bemm River (VIC, Australia)
Bemm River (on Sydenham Inlet) is located between Marlo and Mallacoota in East Gippsland.
This is not really a destination sailing spot however after checking this place out it has a nice size lake that would offer windsurfers some good flat-water-blasting & bump-and-jump.
Unfortunately based on our visit we could not find anywhere suitable for kitesurfers to rig so this one is suited to windsurfers only.
The best breeze would be a SW or NE however NNE and SSW should also work well.
This would also be a very safe place for beginners learning to windsurf.
Access, Rigging & Launching
It seems the best place to rig and launch is at the Luderick Point Memorial Park located opposite the pub.
There is plenty of grass to rig on and a sandy ramp leading to the water.
There is a kids playground and public toilets at this spot as well.
Potential Hazards
The water appears to be mostly deep enough to not strike a fin on the bottom however be aware of sandbars lurking below.
Where To Stay
If you ware looking to spend a night or two here the Bemm River Caravan Park is just a couple of minutes walk from the launch area.
